Why Energy Efficiency?
Energy Efficiency is all about finding better ways of doing the things you already do – ways that will save you money as well as help reduce your carbon footprint.
Energy Efficiency is more than looking at alternative sources for your electricity. Energy Efficiency covers the variety of ways in which you can review your home and your energy usage, through a process called energy management. Si Clean Energy can work with you to identify ways to reduce overall usage, for example by helping you understand standby power, understanding just how much it is costing to run that old electricity sucking fridge you keep in the garage to keep beers cold, or looking at the space heating and cooling of your residence and whether all is in order.

SI Clean Energy experience shows that improving your Energy Efficiency to minimise your electricity consumption before getting a Clean Energy solution like solar or wind power installed, will ensure you maximise the system’s potential to truly provide carbon neutral and cost effective electricity.
SI Clean Energy audits are carried out quickly and cost effectively. An on-site inspection of your property is carried out, together with an interview to identify usage patterns and other pertinent information. Time taken depends on the location and physical size of your property. On completion of the audit our Energy Efficiency specialist will compile a report outlining our findings, recommendations for reducing usage, and the likely positive impact of the results should you implement our recommendations – financially as well as in terms of positive impact on the environment.
We will use some specialist equipment to identify specific aspects of the audit, such as thermal imaging to identify areas where heat is being lost in your building; and power usage meters to identify power usage by electrical appliance.

You can even start to consider your own energy usage patterns without a full audit. The Si Clean Energy Power Usage Meter is a powerful tool yet simple to use. Input your current cost per kWh for electricity into the handheld unit, plug it into your socket, and plug an appliance into the meter. The meter will immediately begin to track your appliance usage and will identify the cost of running that appliance per hour, day week or year. You can then determine areas or ways in which to reduce your usage levels, and save $100s or $1000s off your annual power bill.
